Take on the TCS London Marathon for Children with Cancer UK
At Children with Cancer UK, we have one aim – to give every child with cancer the opportunity to ring their end-of-treatment bell and keep their family together. By joining our 2023 TCS London Marathon team, you will be doing just that.
Every day in the UK, 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer. On average, two of them will not survive. A single child dying of cancer is one too many. We are dedicated to funding research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancers, not only to improve survival rates, but to also find kinder, more effective, treatments with fewer toxic side effects.
Joining our 2023 team couldn’t be easier – get in touch and we'll let you know how to be part of it. We promise to support you all the way and get you to the Finish Line. We have training and fundraising advice and a dedicated team ready to answer any questions you may have.
As part of our team, you will receive regular contact from the Sports Team to provide top tips and Marathon Day information, a unique running vest, meet-ups before the marathon, support from running specialists and amazing support on the day around the course and when you have finished.
Our runners have many reasons for supporting us. Read why Natalie supports Children with Cancer UK:
"In 2018, we were given the devastating news that my daughter, Torri, had leukaemia. She was supposed to completed her treatment in 2020 and ring her end-of-treatment bell.
"Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Torri relapsed a week before completing her treatment. Since then, Torri has had an ongoing battle with this disease. In honour of my daughter Torri, running for Children with Cancer UK has created her legacy – TeamTorri. This has become something we could never have thought possible.
"I am so glad I’ve had the opportunity to run the London Marathon for this amazing charity several times. The support they offer is incredible, virtual meets, actual meets, support from specialists in their sporting field and just wonderful people to help and guide you through what may seem the daftest of questions or worries, to the big issues that may be concerning you. The team has become like a family, with friends made for life.
"I can’t recommend this charity enough if you’re thinking of running the London Marathon for them and the money you raise will make a difference both now and in the future.
"On a personal note, my desire to help this charity is so close to my heart as not all children get to ring their end-of-treatment bell. The more children and families we can help through this awful journey with support and research, the more children will survive.”
