Children with Cancer UK

Be part of the Children with Cancer UK team

At Children with Cancer UK, we have one aim – to give every child with cancer the opportunity to ring their end-of-treatment bell and keep their family together. By joining our 2023 TCS London Marathon team, you will be doing just that.

Every day in the UK, 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer. On average, two of them will not survive. A single child dying of cancer is one too many. We are dedicated to funding research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancers not only to improve survival rates, but to also find kinder, more effective, treatments with fewer toxic side effects.

Joining our 2023 team couldn’t be easier – get in touch and we'll let you know how to be part of it. We promise to support you all the way and get you to the Finish Line. We have training and fundraising advice and a dedicated team ready to answer any questions you may have.

As part of our team, you will receive regular contact from the Sports Team to provide top tips and Marathon Day information, a unique running vest, pre marathon meet-ups, support from running specialists and amazing support on the day around the course and when you have finished.

Our runners have many reasons for supporting us. This is why Nicky does:

"Children with Cancer UK is a charity very close to my heart as my daughter's friend Sam sadly died from leukaemia just a few weeks before his eighth birthday. Taking my eight year old to her friend’s funeral was devastating. No family should have to watch their child suffer or die. We need to keep fundraising so that more research can be done so that ALL children with cancer survive and ring their end-of-treatment bell.

"Children and their families should not have to suffer this awful, cruel disease. Let’s keep pushing on. In Sam’s words 'Never Give Up’.

"I would highly recommend running for Children with Cancer UK, not only because it is such an amazing charity, but because the marathon team are so supportive. I have run for this charity for three years, and I can’t see me ever stopping (as long as they will have me!). I have made some wonderful lifelong friends. I can’t wait to run in 2023 and see you all at the Finish Line to celebrate."
