Every day, seven young people aged 13 to 24 hear the words: “You have cancer.”
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to providing the specialised nursing care and support young people with cancer need to get through it. We fund specialist nurses, youth support teams, and hospital units within the NHS to provide the best care and support during treatment and beyond, making sure cancer doesn't stop young people from living their lives.
Our 28 purpose-built units within NHS hospitals are places where young people can feel at home, meet others their age, and welcome family and friends, while being looked after by a dedicated team of specialists.
We run events for young people with cancer to help them regain independence and meet other young people going through something similar. And we provide easy-to-understand information about every aspect of living with cancer as a young person.
Your donation will help make a substantial difference. Here’s what your money could do:
- £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator, providing the extra help young people need for their studies, relationships, and wellbeing throughout treatment.
- £60 could provide a young person with two hours of care from an expert Teenage Cancer Trust Nurse.
- £100 could go towards mental health first aid training for our nurses and youth workers, so they can spot when a young person most needs help.
