Olympic hero Kye Whyte to start 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon

The Trust’s mission is to inspire activity and Kye is a wonderful example of this, as are all the children who use the BMX track at Burgess Park, and we’re delighted to welcome some of them to be at the Start with Kye.

“Hannah Cockroft is a seven-time Paralympic gold medallist and a former Mini London Marathon winner and it’s wonderful that Liz McColgan, the 1996 winner, is setting the elite women on their way, with her daughter Eilish among the pacers.”

This year’s starters in Royal company!

The Virgin Money London Marathon returns to the streets of London for the first time in 889 days on Sunday 3 October. The last time the mass event was held in the capital was in April 2019 when another British sporting superstar, Sir Andy Murray, pressed the famous red button to get the event under way.

The official starters over the years have also included Her Majesty The Queen in 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, five-time Olympic champion Sir Steve Redgrave and double Olympic champions Helen Glover and Heather Stanning.
