The 2022 TCS London Marathon, the 42nd edition of the event, takes place on Sunday 2 October. The 2023 race will return to spring in 2024, taking place on Saturday 23 April.
For the third year, the virtual TCS London Marathon will be held on the same day, with participants able to take on the 26.2-mile challenge wherever they are in the world between 00:00 and 23:59 on Sunday 2 October.
In total, 50,000 people are expected to take part, with approximately 40,000 scheduled to participate in the traditional mass event.
This year’s event also includes a landmark change to the TCS Mini London Marathon, with the children’s event taking place on Saturday 1 October – the day before the main TCS London Marathon for the first time ever.
