A TCS London Marathon participant running for GOSH Charity

Run it. Beat it.

Your school can help build a better future for children with cancer with the TCS Mini London Marathon.

Every week around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. For every child, parent and family – it’s time to beat it.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) treats the most seriously ill children from across the UK and sees the more rare and difficult-to-treat childhood cancers.

By raising sponsorship for GOSH, your TCS Mini London Marathon will help take the research, technology, facilities and care for children with cancer at Great Ormond Street Hospital to the next level.

Join all our participants – GOSH patients, family members, hospital staff and more – to be part of an incredible team to beat childhood cancer.

Together we can run it. Together we can beat it.

Esha’s story

Six-year-old Esha loves art. She’s creative and enjoys playing with her sister Ria. Her dad says the word most used to describe her is ‘sassy’!

After Esha started feeling unwell in 2021 her parents took her to her local hospital. While there, Esha was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia. Her dad, Rishya, remembers that time:

“When Esha was diagnosed I spent the whole night trying to think about what life could be like. All my worst fears were coming true. It was a very, very tough time.”

Esha was transferred to GOSH. Esha received a bone marrow transplant and spent almost a year at the hospital.

“I can’t really put into words how grateful we are for the care that Esha received. The nursing staff became our family. They were a great source of strength and support for us in a very difficult time,” Rishya said, “we were amazed by all the support services. Esha’s favourite was the music therapist. They really bonded and even in Esha’s darkest days she would always perk up for the music session.”

Post-transplant, Esha is now recovering at home, although she still attends GOSH for regular treatment. Rishya said: “GOSH is our saviour. It has given Esha a chance she never had.”
