About Enthuse

Introducing our new fundraising partner, Enthuse

London Marathon Events (LME) has announced a new three year partnership with Enthuse, a leading fundraising, donations and events registration technology provider.

The partnership means Enthuse will become the official online fundraising partner across LME’s full portfolio, including the TCS London Marathon and RideLondon.

About the partnership

  • Founded in 2012, Enthuse is a fundraising, donations and events registration technology provider that has helped thousands of charities raise millions of pounds.

Charities can customise Enthuse’s solution under their own brand and be in control of their own data. This allows charities to build and nurture a loyal supporter base, raise more funds and ultimately have more impact.
  • Enthuse has been appointed as the official online fundraising platform for London Marathon Events (LME) following an extensive consultation process with all the major online fundraising platform providers after the closure of TCS Giving last year (2021).

LME was looking for a new fundraising partner that would provide the best possible service for charities, our participants and their donors. Enthuse offers an innovative fundraising platform and a transparent charging model that puts the charity’s brand first and helps them maximise their fundraising.

We were impressed with the Enthuse management team’s commitment to using technology to improve user experience. Through their innovative approach to transform digital fundraising the partnership will help LME and its partner charities to raise millions more for good causes.
  • Fundraising pages will be fully branded with the logo and colours of the charity that the participant has chosen to support.

Enthuse also puts the charity in control of its communications and data. The partnership means charities will have full access to real-time fundraising and donations data and insights and analytics for their supporters participating in any of the portfolio of events run by LME via a centralised account for all events.

For participants, the fundraising page creation will feel seamless and like part of the registration process, with no need to create a separate account.
  • Fundraisers can choose to fundraise with alternative fundraising platforms if they wish, and it is not mandatory to use the official online fundraising partner.

Enthuse is the official online fundraising partner for each of LME’s events. When participants register for an event via an LME website, a fundraising page will be created for them on the official fundraising platform, powered by Enthuse. This is a frictionless and easy user journey – all without the need to create an account – which means participants can start fundraising for your cause sooner and raise more.

In the case of the TCS London Marathon, Enthuse is the official online fundraising partner for the event. Ballot entrants can choose any charity from the Enthuse charity database to fundraise for. This means charities that register with Enthuse will benefit from additional funds from participants who want to raise money for good causes, but who don’t have a charity place.

If a charity wishes to be removed from the Enthuse database they can be, but they could lose out on general and ballot (where applicable) entry participants across all of LME’s events and would have no online presence on any of the official fundraising platforms powered by Enthuse.
  • Enthuse is proud to have powered thousands of events for thousands of good causes since 2012. Enthuse has also processed more than 3.5 million registrations for over 20,000 events and helped raise millions for charity.

Market positioning

  • Enthuse is proud to take the baton from Virgin Money Giving and, like others, appreciates what it brought to the sector.

Enthuse is a B2B platform, which means it puts charities first – quite literally with an individual charity’s brand and logo at the forefront of official LME fundraising pages. We believe this is a better experience for supporters than offered by consumer platforms and means the fundraising pages that participants share with family, friends and peers create a network brand awareness effect for each charity.

Enthuse also puts charities in control of their own data and marketing communications, and never emails supporters with details of competing fundraising campaigns. It also commits to never resell a charity’s data.

Enthuse and LME have also decided to use the tipping model by default to put supporters in control of how much they contribute. Historically Virgin Money Giving offered Donor Fee Cover.
  • Both LME and Enthuse believe competition should thrive in the sector and that charities should have a choice between fundraising platforms. Enthuse has a different value proposition to many of the other consumer fundraising platforms, meaning it offers more choice for charities and fundraisers.

Enthuse is a B2B platform, which means it puts charities first – quite literally with an individual charity’s brand and logo at the forefront of official LME fundraising pages. We believe this is a better experience for supporters than offered by consumer platforms like JustGiving and means the fundraising pages that participants share with family, friends and peers create a network brand awareness effect for each charity.

Enthuse also puts charities in control of their own data and marketing communications, and never emails supporters with details of competing fundraising campaigns.
  • When participants register for an event via an LME website or event registration platform, a fundraising page will automatically be created for them on the official fundraising platform, powered by Enthuse. This is a frictionless and easy user journey – all without the need to create an account – which means they can start fundraising sooner and raise more.

It’s a process that’s been proven to maximise fundraising, where 99 per cent of participants go on to use the fundraising page they’ve been provided with. This makes the process faster and less onerous for participants.

In addition to this, Enthuse makes a wealth of additional features available to users. They can share updates, photos and videos with their supporters or even live-stream on their fundraising page.

    Registration and support

    • We encourage charities that haven’t partnered with Enthuse before to complete the onboarding process in order to receive funds raised for their causes, as well as benefit from branded fundraising pages and real-time data. There is no subscription charge for the platform for charities that hold places in LME events.

The Enthuse registration process is very simple and can be completed here. The Enthuse team is always happy to help with onboarding.
    • Charities that have used Enthuse before will be able to access funds raised by participants. Please visit Enthuse.com and use the chat function to talk to someone in real-time, or email support@enthuse.com if you want a refresher on the platform.
    • Charities that currently use the Enthuse platform will be able to access funds raised by participants. Please visit Enthuse.com and use the chat function to talk to someone in real-time or email support@enthuse.com.
    • Please visit Enthuse.com and use the chat function to talk to someone in real-time, or email support@enthuse.com.
    • If fundraisers have a technical issue with their fundraising page then the charity or the fundraiser can visit Enthuse.com and use the chat function to talk to someone in real-time or email support@enthuse.com.
    • The charity owns the relationship with supporters and donors based on its customisable marketing opt-in statement. Enthuse is a B2B brand that puts charities first, so it never emails supporters with details of competing fundraising campaigns. Enthuse may send system/transactional emails such as donation receipts.
    • Enthuse will configure the branding initially based on your charity’s website and details will be shared in due course on how charities can request amends.

    • It is your organisation’s choice if you wish to be registered to receive funds from the official fundraising platform powered by Enthuse. It is not a requirement, however your organisation may miss out on funds raised by individuals who have chosen to fundraise via this method. In particular, charities who request removal will not appear to fundraisers who are successful in the RideLondon and TCS London Marathon ballots, or general entries for LME’s other events.

The Enthuse support team will be able to help if you wish to be removed from the platform. Please contact support@enthuse.com.
    • All London Marathon Events partner charities that hold places in the 2022 RideLondon or the 2022 TCS London Marathon events will be featured on the official fundraising platform for RideLondon for the ballot results announcements in February. This will be expanded to include all charities registered with Enthuse in time for the 2022 TCS London Marathon ballot results.

    Fees and payments

    • No, there is no subscription fee.
    • LME and Enthuse are using tipping as default. This means that the donor has the option to select the level of fee they pay. With donor cover the Enthuse fee for the transaction is covered by the donor rather than the charity.
    • Enthuse charges 1.9 per cent plus 20p per transaction to cover the cost of the card fee. There is a small additional fee for processing Gift Aid on behalf of the charity. This is five per cent of the Gift Aid value only.
      · £10 donation
      · Payment provider fee - 0.39p
      · Gift Aid
      · +£2.50
      · Gift Aid fee
      · - 0.125p
      · Total to the charity = £11.98
    • Payments are made on a monthly basis on the 20th of the month (or the nearest working day). There is also the option to upgrade to Stripe for free to receive faster payouts on a seven-day rolling basis. Please speak to the Enthuse team to get this set up through a verification process.
    • Yes, supporters can register for Gift Aid when they donate.

    Fundraising

    • Participants can fundraise for one charity per fundraising page.
    • Enthuse has created a functionality that supports this. Fundraisers can represent the funds raised on their fundraising totaliser by using an offline donation capability.
    • That they can very simply do this on the LME entry site by using Enthuse, the official LME online fundraising platform.
    • Fundraisers can take some simple steps, many of which are prompted by email reminders on the Enthuse fundraising wizard.
      1. Upload a profile picture to raise 10 times more
      2. Set a fundraising target and make a donation to the page to get your fundraising started
      3. Quickly and easily upload your previous fundraising amount if you have a deferred ballot place and have already raised funds using the offline donation feature
      4. Customise the story section to explain why you’re taking part and raising money for the cause
      5. Share the page on social media, email and WhatsApp and ask others to do the same
      6. Upload photos, videos and live stream to encourage interaction
      7. Enthuse puts the charity’s brand first, meaning more donors will remember the cause and go on to donate in the future. You don’t have to lift a finger; Enthuse does this for you
    • There will be the option for the fundraiser to ask Enthuse to add a charity to its database within the registration process. This request will go to the Enthuse team who will contact the charity in order to have them added for the fundraiser.
    • The fundraising total will roll over until the next scheduled/postponed event.
    • If a user with the same email address has an existing fundraising page on the official event platform, they will be asked if they wish to create a new page or simply link to their existing one. This is a new feature due to be available by the end of March, before charity place entries open. Charities should therefore feel confident that they can ask their charity place participants to start fundraising on the official fundraising platform right away if they wish.
    • Charities will be given a direct link to their profile page on each official fundraising platform. This profile page will have a call to action where supporters can set up a fundraising page. Enthuse will be able to share the latter very soon.

    Reports and insight

    • Charities will have full access to real-time fundraising and donations data, insights and analytics for their supporters participating in any of the portfolio of events run by London Marathon Events via a centralised account.
    • Yes, if they have opted into your custom marketing consent statement that gives permission to do this.
