A 2020 virtual Virgin Money London Marathon runner

The virtual TCS London Marathon

We ran together in 2021!

The virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon took place on Sunday 3 October. It was amazing to see up to 24,000 people take part from more than 100 countries, from Argentina to Zimbabwe. Thanks to each and everyone of you who helped make the day so special.

Participants had a full 24 hours to complete their 26.2 miles and received bib numbers before the event (with the opportunity to download them to print off to wear on Marathon Day if they did not receive them in time).

Finisher’s medals and New Balance finishers T-shirt are now being posted to participants.

And we’ll run together again in 2022

The virtual TCS London Marathon will be back in 2022, again giving people the chance to take on their 26.2 miles from wherever they live in the world – watch this space for details and information about how to enter.

2021 Virtual Event Guide

We made a Virtual Event Guide available in the lead-up to the 2021 event, which contained everything participants needed to know. We will be producing a guide for participants in the 2022 virtual TCS London Marathon, so please check back for details later.

  • Charities were able to apply for places until 16:00 on Thursday 4 February. Applications made after the deadline are not accepted.
  • The virtual event ballot system enables charities to apply for a set number of entries in the virtual marathon from a choice of six bands.

The band levels are as follows:

Please contact us with the full name and date of birth of the participant, as well as the full name and email address of their guide/support runner and the reason for the request and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible to confirm.
