SSAFA supports cheer on London Marathon participants

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity

SSAFA is the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity and has supported thousands of people, from Second World War veterans to those who have served in more recent conflicts.

The charity found that Service leavers aged 25 to 64 needed specialised support, as they face complex challenges, from low income to life-changing injuries or hidden wounds, such as depression or post-traumatic stress disorder.

From helping homeless veterans off the street, to buying white goods for impoverished WWII veterans, SSAFA is there for our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and their families.

Every donation will help SSAFA provide support where it is needed most. Your help will increase the charity’s impact. In 2022, the charity provided a wide range of support, including:

  • 2506 volunteers
  • £9,528,000 in welfare grants
  • Provided assistance to 53,439 people
  • Delivered the SSAFA Short Break scheme - £2,500 pays for an activity break for a service family who have a child with additional needs or disability
