SSAFA is the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity and has supported thousands of people, from Second World War veterans to those who have served in more recent conflicts.
We found that Service leavers aged 25 to 64 needed specialised support, as they face complex challenges, from low income to life-changing injuries or hidden wounds, such as depression or post-traumatic stress disorder.
From helping homeless veterans off the street, to buying white goods for impoverished WWII veterans, we are there for our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and their families.
Every donation will help us provide support where it is needed most. Your help will increase the charity’s impact. In 2023, the charity provided a wide range of support, including:
- Handling 31,375 Forcesline enquiries.
- Helping 53,884 people.
- Supporting 1,309 people through our Mentoring programme. The complexity of cases is continuing to increase, and the current housing shortage is impacting families who are transitioning out of the armed forces.
