London Marathon participants supporting the Stroke Association

The Stroke Association

About 80,000 people leave hospital every year after a stroke in the UK.

The Stroke Association’s priority is to reach these people as soon as possible, helping them through the most frightening experiences of their lives, as the charity believes everyone deserves to live the best life they can after a stroke.

The Stroke Association also funds research to help improve treatments, care and rehabilitation, saving thousands of lives and helping stroke survivors make the best recovery possible.

Your donation can make a positive difference to stroke survivors and helps fund vital research. Here’s what your money could do:

  • £29 could fund the emotional support to help rebuild a life after a stroke
  • £50 could fund research into new stroke treatments, such as thrombolysis, a clot-busting drug treatment that returns the blood supply to the brain
  • £130 helps the charity to review and address a stroke survivor’s needs six months after their stroke, ensuring the best quality of life possible
  • £500 helps develop The Stroke Association’s communication support, aiding survivors who have difficulty speaking, reading and writing
