Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity

Find out why Holly is taking on the 2023 TCS London Marathon on Sunday 23 April for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity.

“My name is Holly, and I am running the TCS London Marathon for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity. I’ve wanted to take part in the London Marathon ever since I was a little girl – and now I’ve just turned 18, I couldn’t think of a better cause to do it for.

“This hospital is very close to me and my family, as it has helped both me and my younger sister. My little sister was born 15 weeks premature and in the neonatal unit for the first months of her life. She was then in and out of the hospital for the two years after that. We were told she may not be able to do anything she can do today – however, thanks to the incredible work and care from everyone at the hospital my little sister is doing amazingly well now!

“The hospital also supported me when I found out I had a tumour in my shoulder and gave me the support and help I needed when going through the process of getting it removed. So, I genuinely couldn’t be raising money for a better cause – it’s a way for me to thank and give back to the hospital after everything they have done for me and my family.

“Running from a young age has helped massively with my training, which is going very well as I have just completed my first half marathon! I can’t wait to experience the feeling everyone talks about when running this course and for all my hard work to pay off for this amazing charity.”
