Donate your entry fee 'second ballot' terms and conditions

  1. The promoter is London Marathon Events Limited of 190 Great Dover Street, London SE1 4YB (the “Promoter”). The Promoter is running a promotion whereby entrants have the chance to win one of five pairs of guaranteed places in one (1) of the following Abbott World Marathon Major events of their choice: (i) the BMW Berlin Marathon; (ii)) Bank of America Chicago Marathon (iii) the TCS New York Marathon (iv) the Tokyo Marathon (all ‘Marathon Majors’). In addition to the two guaranteed places in one (1) of their choice of the four Marathon Majors listed above, the winners will receive a pair of return flights to the relevant location and accommodation for two people for four (4) nights (the “Prize”) by entering via one of the options detailed at paragraph 6 below (the “Promotion”).
  2. The promotion is open to any residents of the United Kingdom over the age of 18 years except for employees and close relatives of London Marathon Events Ltd, event partners, sponsors or anyone else connected with the promotion.
  3. By entering this promotion, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  4. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this promotion.
  5. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  6. The entrant may enter the Promotion via any of the following options:
    1. via the online process as directed where you will have the option, but not the obligation, to donate your entry fee to the 2022 TCS London Marathon; or
    2. by post, by supplying your full legal name, home address and contact details to: 2022 TCS London Marathon Second Ballot, FREEPOST, London Marathon Events. This method of entry does not require any payment or donation of your entry to the 2022 TCS London Marathon.
  7. By donating your entry fee to the 2022 TCS London Marathon, you will also be supporting the vital work of The London Marathon Charitable Trust (“The Trust”) as 100 per cent of the Promoter’s trading profit goes to The Trust – see here for more details of The Trust’s work.
  8. The closing date for entry will be the closing date of the 2022 TCS London Marathon Ballot.
  9. The Winners of the Promotion will be selected at random by the Promoter. The Promoter shall select a maximum of five (5) Winners (the “Winners”).
  10. The Winners shall receive one (1) Prize each.
  11. The Winners will be notified by London Marathon Events after the competition has closed. If the Winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize within 14 days of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw a Prize from the Winner and pick a replacement Winner.
  12. The Prize is non-transferable, can’t be returned to the Promoter and non-refundable. there is no cash alternative. Prizes are subject to availability and the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any Prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. Guaranteed Places are subject to availability for the chosen year and if not available that year will be allocated for the next available year.
  13. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for entries not received by the Promoter for whatever reason.
  14. The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  15. The Promotion and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  16. The Winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the Winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK Data Protection Legislation and will only be used as set out in our privacy policy save as may be necessary to grant prizes.
