Watch comedian Romesh Ranganathan talking about how running has changed his life

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan completed his first-ever marathon in 6:35:21, having run for the mental health charity CALM in memory of a friend who took his life.

Ranganathan has been open about his own struggles in the past, having considered taking his own life. He said that raising money for CALM was important but raising awareness was equally important.

He finished shortly before the Finish Line on The Mall reopened to traffic, which he added was a shout-out to his friends, family, and haters. He said: "I feel good, I reckon it took me about an hour longer than anticipated but I didn’t anticipate the atmosphere on the course, it’s amazing. I took pictures as I was running, because I am a big deal. I really enjoyed it."
