Jonny Mellor was the best British marathon runner in 2020, setting a personal best in February of the year (before the pandemic created lockdowns in Europe) at the Seville Marathon (2:10:05) and followed that up by winning his first British Championship when he was the first Brit home at the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon (2:10:38).
