Marathon best: 2:02:55 (London 2019)
Mosinet Geremew is one of the most consistent marathon runners in the world, never having been outside the top five positions in a major marathon he has raced in. He went sub-2:03 at the 2019 London Marathon when he finished second behind Eliud Kipchoge, with his 2:02:55 the fourth-fastest time in history. Geremew was a silver medallist at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, while his one marathon victory came in Dubai in 2018 when he beat compatriot Leul Gebresilasie by two seconds in what was then a course record. He went on to challenge Mo Farah at the Chicago Marathon that October, a contest he lost when the Briton sprinted away in the last half mile.
