Notes: despite being just 26 years old, Dereje has a wealth of marathon experience around the globe. She has won the Shanghai Marathon twice, the Dubai Marathon once and the Valencia Marathon once. Her win in Valencia was where she set her PB of 2:18:30. Dereje just missed out on a medal in the marathon at the Tokyo Olympics, finishing fourth. She hails from Selale, in the Oromia region of Ethiopia.
