About the virtual event
The virtual TCS London Marathon will next take place on Sunday 23 April 2023 – the same day as the mass event in London – and will see participants across the globe complete the iconic 26.2-mile challenge their way.
As in previous years, participants in the virtual TCS London Marathon will have 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds to complete the distance on the course of their choice, and all finishers will receive the same medal and New Balance T-shirt as those who complete the mass event.
The virtual TCS London Marathon is a fantastic fundraising opportunity for charities, helping them to engage with supporters no matter where they are in the world!
Meaningful miles
Since its first edition in 2020, the virtual TCS London Marathon has given participants the chance to cover 26.2 miles wherever they wish, their way. We spoke with sisters Laura and Nicola, who took on the virtual event in 2021 and were able to complete the distance in places that meant so much to them.
Questions from charity partners
- We will soon let charities know when they will be able to apply for places in the virtual 2023 TCS London Marathon. Places will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The minimum number of places each charity can apply for is three, while the maximum number of places is 250.
- Charity places will be available at the standard entry price of £30 (or £40 for entries from outside the UK to cover international postage and packing). Please note that any unused charity places for the virtual 2023 TCS London Marathon will not be rolled over to a future edition of the event.
- Your charity will have to pay up to the amount of £200 on entry, or you can opt to be invoiced at a later date for the total number of places you choose.
- Charities that purchase places in the virtual 2023 TCS London Marathon will then receive their entry console (date TBC). Once the deadline for registering participants passes and the console closes, all participants listed on the console will be entered into the virtual 2023 TCS London Marathon.
If a participant needs a support runner, the support runner will be provided with a free place as usual. The support runner will be sent a finisher’s medal and T-shirt on completion of the event.
Please contact us with the full name and date of birth of the participant and the full name and email address of their support runner, as well as the reason for the request. We’ll then get back to you as soon as possible.
The Official TCS London Marathon App, powered by TCS, enables virtual participants to log their 26.2 miles and earn their coveted medal and New Balance finisher's T-shirt.
To help bring the virtual experience to life and provide a memorable soundtrack to the day, the Official App also offers participants an exclusive audio commentary featuring several well-known voices.
