Deferred Entry

Deferred entry

Withdrawing your place

Life doesn’t always go to plan, which is why we offer a withdrawal system for anyone who needs to cancel their mass TCS London Marathon entry.

To withdraw your entry, you will need to complete our withdrawal form, which will be available via this page by the end of August. The withdrawal system will then close at 20:00 on Saturday 1 October 2022.

Please note virtual TCS London Marathon entries cannot be withdrawn or deferred.

Deferring your place

Once you’ve withdrawn, you will have the chance to defer your TCS London Marathon place to another year, if you are eligible to do so.

Can I defer my TCS London Marathon place?

This depends on the type of place you have. We’ve made some changes in our deferral policy this year, so make sure you read the eligibility criteria below carefully. If you’re eligible to defer your place, the deadline for doing so is 20:00 on Saturday 1 October 2022.

New for 2022 – enhanced deferral options if you are pregnant or postpartum

If you’re unable to run on Sunday 2 October 2022 because you are pregnant or postpartum, you can defer your place to one of the following three years: 2023, 2024 or 2025. If you are pregnant or postpartum and have qualified for a Good For Age or Championship place in 2022, you’re now able to defer your entry to the same category as your original place without the need to qualify again. (Please note your Good For Age place would be in the appropriate age category for the newly-selected marathon.)
