Unable to take part?

Withdrawing your place

Life doesn’t always go to plan, which is why we offer a withdrawal system for anyone who needs to cancel their mass TCS London Marathon entry.

To withdraw your entry, you'll need to notify us via your participant dashboard when it is available in early 2023.

Please note that virtual TCS London Marathon entries cannot be withdrawn or deferred.

Deferring your place

Once you’ve withdrawn, you may have the chance to defer your TCS London Marathon place to the following year, if you are eligible to do so. We will email all withdrawn participants from the 2022 event by mid-November with further information. In the meantime, please check below to see which types of entry are eligible to defer.

Can I defer my TCS London Marathon place?

This depends on the type of place you have – please read the eligibility criteria below carefully. If you’re eligible to defer your place, the deadline for withdrawing from the 2022 event was 23:59 on Saturday 1 October 2022.

Enhanced deferral options if you are pregnant or postpartum

If you were unable to run in 2022 because you are pregnant or postpartum, you could defer your place to one of the following three years: 2023, 2024 or 2025. If you are pregnant or postpartum and qualified for a Good For Age or Championship place in 2022, you could defer your entry to the same category as your original place without the need to qualify again. (Please note your Good For Age place would be in the appropriate age category for the newly-selected marathon.)
