About the virtual 2023 TCS London Marathon

Whether you want to amble along country lanes or power up and over hills, the virtual 2023 TCS London Marathon is your chance to complete 26.2 miles however and wherever you wish on Sunday 23 April. If you enter the virtual event now, you'll also be automatically placed into a draw to win one of 24 places in the mass 2024 TCS London Marathon – so what are you waiting for?

  • Cost: £30 (UK entry) or £40 (international entry)
  • Route: a 26.2-mile course of your choice!

The Official App

The Official TCS London Marathon App is full of fantastic features that help bring the marathon experience to life. Among many other things, MyWay participants can use the Official TCS London Marathon App to log their 26.2 miles and earn their coveted finisher's medal and New Balance T-shirt.

Virtual TCS London Marathon FAQs

  • Entry is £28 for UK residents and £35 for international participants. The additional £7 for international entrants is for postage and packaging and covers the costs of two mailings – one pre-event, which consists of two bib numbers to wear on Marathon Day, and one post-event, which consists of the TCS London Marathon finisher’s T-shirt and medal.

    Please note that some countries require payment of an additional customs fee on delivery of the finisher medal and T-shirt.

  • Yes, the official 2022 TCS London Marathon finisher’s T-shirt and medal will be posted to all official finishers after the event.
  • No, it’s not possible to transfer your place.
  • You may apply for a Good For Age or Championship place in the TCS London Marathon by running the relevant qualifying times in the virtual event. The deadline to apply for a Good For Age place in the 2022 TCS London Marathon was Monday 29 November 2021 and details of how to apply for a Championship place in the 2022 mass event will be available soon.

  • Yes. Completing the virtual TCS London Marathon counts towards the London Classics.
  • No. Virtual marathons do not count towards Abbott World Marathon Majors points or a Six Star Finisher medal.

  • So long as you start and finish within the official event period (00:00 to 23:59:59 BST on Sunday 2 October) you can break your virtual marathon down into as many sessions as you like by using the pause functionality on your tracking device. Your official result will be based on your total elapsed time.
  • No, you must not use a treadmill or any other stationary running machine and/or equipment to take part in the virtual 2022 TCS London Marathon. All participants must complete the 26.2 miles outside.
  • No. We do not allow multiple entries from the same person in any of our events.

    TCS Mini London Marathon in schools

    Last year, we invited every school across the UK to take part in the TCS Mini London Marathon. In 2022 we want to build on this success and inspire 500,000 children to run, jog, walk, or wheel 2.6 miles between Monday 26 September and Friday 21 October.
